Why Do We Need a Bakkie in South Africa?

'Bakkie' is a South African informal term for a pickup truck.

It is time to buy a bakkie for the next steps of the Shigamani Project! In the coming months, we will be sending several teams to finalize the construction of a building that will house a bakery, restaurant, butchery, and grocery store. Our goal is to help Shigamani Village generate income so that they can become self-sustained.

As transportation in this area is very limited, a bakkie will be essential for us to accomplish the goals of each construction team faster and more effectively. It will also provide support for several other teams we will be sending to South Africa throughout the year and for the businesses that will be established.

The total cost of a Bakkie is $6,000. With your investment, this vehicle will be a huge blessing for our plans to leverage entrepreneurship in Shigamani Village.

Dunamis Connections has been involved with the village of Shigamani, South Africa for many years. We built a multipurpose building that is used as a church and a community center, sent several mission teams, built the pastor's house, drilled a water well, conducted teaching sessions, fed many people, and much more.

As we move forward, we'll focus on these specific areas:

  •  Entrepreneurship: We are currently empowering individuals in Shigamani by providing them with direction and training to establish their own businesses. The building below will be used for these ventures.

  • Spiritual Formation of Future Generations: We are working on empowering individuals to change their mindset according to Kingdom patterns. We are focusing on the project leadership, children's ministry, youth development, and the healthy growth of couples.
